U-19 Match Cancelled

Attention all U-19 Basketball Players

Tomorrows (29th November) match is cancelled due to school closure and severe weather conditions. I've been on the phone to basketball Ireland about the results of the other games. They got back to me Friday evening to tell me that the result of this match ARklow CC Vs DLS Bagnalstown will determine who will get to South East League Semi-final....So a Win is what we need or we are out of the competition. For all you 6th years...who I'm sure do not want this to be your last game...This could be YOUR year...your chance to shine....an opportunity to grab a title and move it to the next level-something that has been in your grasp for the last 5-6 years but somehow escapes your reach in the playoffs. This could be the year that moves arklow C.C. to the next level..

Your performance in the last two games was phenomenal....I think you'll agree that players like Kieran Fitzgerald-Piggott, Justas Elvikas and Ziggy Rimkus had a sensational game in Wexford. Also, I'd like to give a special mention to Victor Panko, who worked great under the boards and has developed into a more confident and skillful player this year. Well done boys!

I'd also like to mention Dean Doyles performance in the U-16 game against Rathdrum. Dean gave a tireless performance and never gave up in the game. A commendable trait.

I have asked to have the game rescheduled for Wednesday 8th December. This is good news for the 5th years who would have missed the game due to work experience. It may also work to our advantage to have this game moved.. as we hope to have Darragh O Leary and Alan Sunderland recovered from injury. Both of these players will be needed to progress further in the competition. The other coach has to confirm if this dates suits him. It will be an away game.

I will talk to you when we get back to school, until then I hope you enjoy your day(s) off and please be safe and return injury free!
